OTAO Legislative Day: A Productive Day for Occupational Therapy (OT) Advocacy!

Two Infinity Rehab occupational therapists, Christie Ames and Katie Shuler, joined a group of OT practitioners from across Oregon and descended onto Capitol Square in Salem, OR to raise awareness for the OT profession. The OT practitioners in attendance represented a variety of settings including acute care, long-term acute care, skilled nursing, pediatrics, and school-based therapy as they met with their Senate and House Representatives. The First Annual Oregon White House Conference on Aging: A Call to Action

On an overcast morning in the small town of Lebanon, Oregon, over 200 senior care providers gathered in the Samaritan Event Center for the 2015 White House Conference on Aging to address an important question: how can we improve the care of aging adults in the state of Oregon? Stacey Turner Joins LeadingAge Oregon Leadership Academy

Stacey Turner, SLP, VP of Operations for Infinity Rehab, will serve on the Leadership Academy for LeadingAge Oregon. The year-long assignment is designed to help aging services professionals accelerate their leadership development so they are better equipped to serve our field. The  Leadership Academy is limited to 8-10 participants per year, chosen through a formal application process to secure commitment of participants and the support of their supervisor/organization. Achieving Successes through Challenges

Infinity Rehab recently faced a seemingly insurmountable task. Our partners, Prestige Care, Inc., recently acquired eight skilled nursing facilities in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. In addition, two new Infinity outpatient clinics were scheduled to start in Washington. Now, this might seem like a simple transition of services for a rapidly growing contract therapy company that handles sub-acute and outpatient rehab for over 170 facilities across nine states. However, the nature of the acquisition and outpatient clinic start-ups required that our services were to be in place within a month. We were up for the challenge. Senior's Wish Comes True

Our friends over at Avamere Court at Keizer did something wonderful. A resident, Bergliot “Bee” Moore, had a life-long wish to ride a horse. Now, just months shy of her 103rd Birthday, the staff was able to make that wish come true. Watch this video and try not to smile when you see the look of pure joy on Bee’s face!  

WWII Veteran and Stafford Resident Receives Congressional Medal of Honor

“I respect anyone, whoever they are, whatever country they come from. I have a great respect for people.” Those wonderful words are from Congressional Gold Medal recipient Ken Yaguchi. Yaguchi, 89, was honored at The Stafford – a boutique retirement community that Infinity Rehab provides rehabilitation services for – on Tuesday March 13th where Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber declared Feb. 26, 2012 to be Nisei Veterans Day. 2012 Infinity Rehab Continuing Education Symposiums – Teamwork, Camaraderie and Fun!

This March marked our 7th annual Infinity Rehab Continuing Education Symposium. Nearly 600 Physical and Occupational Therapists, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapy Assistants and Speech-Language Pathologists gathered in Portland, OR for two days of Continuing Education classes and networking events. The Symposium is the largest gathering of therapists for CEU’s in the Pacific Northwest and continues to grow each year. What began as a way for Infinity Rehab employees to maintain annual CEU requirements has grown into an event that encompasses hundreds of non-Infinity Rehab therapists from across the country.
