The Infinity Team is proud to recognize Karla Draves, COTA who recently became a “Certified Lymphedema Therapist.” Karla is based in Durand, Illinois and has been an Infinity Team Member since 2007.
Lymphedema certification is a specialized area of practice, requiring extensive additional clinical training for a total of 135 hours of instruction including 9 days of classroom training. At the completion of the training, the candidate must take and pass a competency exam. Lymphedema therapy is focused on both the acute/chronic extremity lymphedema (e.g. post-mastectomy). The process is non-invasive and tremendously helpful for individuals suffering from chronic swelling. Congratulations to Karla for undertaking and achieving this advancement in her clinical skills!
